Matt Lamason
Matt Lamason is the director of Peoples Coffee. He has a degree in Political Science and worked as a barista for five years before founding Wellington's first boutique, exclusively fair trade roastery. Matt recently spent a year in sunny Brisbane working with fledgling fair trade coffee company Blackstar.
Back to the topEfi Botes
Efi Botes is in charge of Peoples Coffee's accounts and is the backbone of the company. She has taken care of the monetary minutiae since 2006. Efi enjoys spending her spare time knitting tiny clothes for neo-natal babies, taking long walks and ferrying her teenaged offspring around town.

Rene Macaulay
Rene is Peoples Coffee's in-house roaster extraordinaire and alt-country afficionado. He recently travelled to Mexico, Guatemala and Nicaragua to meet with growers and share experiences from different ends of the coffee spectrum. Rene is self-confessedly happiest when behind a pipe and a banjo.
Back to the topShaun K Anderson
Shaun is in charge of sales at Peoples and is responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with all our cafe accounts. He is an accomplished musician and guitarist, and a stalwart of Wellington's indie-folk scene. Shaun is also fond of bold jerseys and lurid sneakers.
Back to the topDave Lamason
Dave has been an indispensable employee of Peoples since the very beginning. He began as manager and barista of our flagship coffee shop shortly after it opened, and in 2005 won the coveted Capital Times 'best barista in Wellington' award. Since 2007 he has been head of espresso training and technical support. Dave doubles as a 'progressive pop/metal' drummer by night.

Fair Trade practices are fundamental to how we run our business. It's one of the reasons we started a coffee business in the first place.
