Moka pot recipe

December’s coffee of the month is the Tadesse Meskela 🌱

Our barista Ella’s Mocha-pot recipe:

COFFEE: 18g 3/4 of basket
GRIND: Fine

METHOD:

1- Fill the base of the stovetop (the boiler) with boiling water depending on the size of your stovetop brewer - a good general rule of thumb is to fill to just below the pressure valve.

2- Fill your basket with 18g, roughly 3/4 full of fine coffee (slightly coarser than you would do for at-home espresso), if you come in-store we can grind to perfection for you!

3- Screw the top on and brew over low heat, remove from the heat source as soon as you hear the sputtering sound. Overheating the coffee means unpleasant bitter flavours.

Serve to your liking with Milk, more hot water or as is!

Ella’s tip - for a more consistent extraction pop a damp aero press filter over the holes and seal!
